Discover AK Interactive Filters, enamel-based filter paints developed for scale modeling and realistic model finishing. Filters are designed to subtly modify base colors and camouflage schemes, helping modelers create greater tonal variation, reduce color uniformity and bring different colors together into a more natural and visually consistent finish.
Enamel Filters for Scale Models
AK Interactive Filters are applied in thin, translucent layers over the painted surface. Unlike heavier weathering effects, filters subtly influence the underlying color without hiding fine details, panel lines or the original paintwork.
They can be especially useful for tanks, military vehicles, aircraft, model trains, miniatures and dioramas, where large areas of uniform color can otherwise appear flat or unrealistic.
Depending on the selected filter, the effect can be used to alter the tone of a base color, introduce subtle color variation or visually unify different shades within a camouflage pattern.
Perfect for Military Models & Camouflage
The AK Interactive filter range includes specialized colors suitable for popular modeling finishes such as Panzer Grey, desert yellow, NATO and green vehicles, sand colors, wood and camouflage schemes.
Filters are also an excellent step in a complete weathering process. After adjusting the overall colors of your model, additional effects such as washes, streaking grime, rust, dust, mud, oil stains and pigments can be applied to create further depth and realism.
Easy to Adjust and Blend
AK Interactive enamel filters can be diluted or adjusted using White Spirit or odorless turpentine, giving the modeler greater control over the intensity of the effect. Excess product can also be removed or blended to achieve more subtle transitions.
For best results, AK Interactive recommends applying filters over previously painted and varnished surfaces, preferably with a satin finish.
